"We support the restoration of Old St. Thomas to serve the community with traditional and new purposes, with a focus on programming that strengthens families, culture, arts, and language. It is a powerful way of honouring the legacy of our loved ones and ancestors who have been laid to rest in the cemetery."
Chief Peter Wesley, Moose Cree First Nation
“The Government of Canada is excited to support Moose Factory's 350th anniversary project. This project will create a valuable space where Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities can come together to celebrate our shared heritage and forge strong, lasting bonds. We look forward to seeing this place become a crossroads of mutual respect, enriching dialogue, shared support and active preservation of our collective heritage.”
The Honourable Pascale St-Onge, Minister of Canadian Heritage
