Open to qualified candidates living in Moose Factory or Moosonee, or candidates with close ties to these communities who can demonstrate their capacity to work remotely and are willing to travel as needed.
Position will remain open until filled.
Interviews start June 2, 2025.

Duration: indeterminate position, subject to funding.

Remuneration: starting at $35/hr, with part-time hours with the objective of increasing to a full-time position on salary.

Summary                    

The MRHHA invites applications for the part-time position of Culture, Arts & Communications Lead (CACL). We aim to develop this into a full-time indeterminate position, subject to funding, which the successful candidate will help secure as part of the grant-writing and fundraising responsibilities that this position includes.


Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience and skills in the following areas: project management and/or production in arts and culture, with a knowledge of local and regional history; fundraising, grant-writing, accounting and reporting; excellent written and oral communication; event planning and coordination; basic web design, social media, public communications; strategic planning; working with volunteers, elders and youth; and, supporting grassroots community initiatives.

  

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:


  • Coordination of MRHHA Culture & Arts Committee.

  • Coordination and management of partnerships aimed at creating an arts/culture hub and production/publication cooperative that will foster arts and culture in the Moose River area.

  • Fundraising support for the MRHHA as a whole and lead for arts/culture grants and fundraising.

  • Coordination of communications for the MRHHA including, web content, social media content, newsletters, posters, and other communications.

  • Communications, engagement and strategic planning support for the MRHHA’s 360 Plan for holistic community and economic development – with emphasis on components relating to arts and culture.


Supervision
  • This position will report to the Executive Director.


Location
  • This position will start as a work-from-home position, based in Moose Factory and Moosonee; however qualified candidates will be considered who are able to work more remotely and are willing to travel as needed. Relocation to Moose Factory or Moosonee in the future may be required.
